Today at Bitch University we discuss serious Sass Zappers.  Sass Zappers 101 features my top five worst.  (With a fun bonus from Mr. Einstein above)  I used to do these and now?  No freakin’ way.  I will not be sucked into the Sass Zapper muck.  The muck threatens and test us almost daily.  Oh yes it does.  When we are tired, cranky or just haven’t gotten the attention we must have the muck can have its way with us.  I can’t help it…the muck stops here!    Let’s go over my top 5 Sass Zappers and the action a Sassy Bitch can take to stay out of the dirty, slimy muck.

1.  Putting your own needs on the back burner.  And with each new task you take on without taking care of yourself, you push your needs further and further away.  And you wonder why you get so pissy sometimes?  Take care of you and things you want will be produced quicker and easier.  You will have the energy, drive and restored passion to do so!  Action:  Long bath, early to bed with a pile of magazines, a weekend away, a massage, an afternoon with your favorite movie and lots of buttery popcorn.

2.  Holding grudges.   Oh … here we go.  How much time have we wasted being pissed about something or someone we have absolutely no control over?  It hurt so much that we just can’t let it go.  So what do we do?  We hold on to it so we can be hurt more, complain about it more and sniff…suffer more.  Drama Queen loves to suffer.  Action:  Have a little “letting go” ritual.  Take a whole day if you have to.  Take a piece of paper and write down the grudge you are holding on to.  Go for a long walk.  Work out the edginess, anger and hurt.  Then rip up the piece of paper and burn it up in an ash tray or flush it down the toilet.  Take a deep breath and then do something that makes you feel really good.   Then hold on to that feeling instead of the hurt and pain.

3.  Buying happiness.  We live in I want it and need it now world.  Instant gratification.  Instant debt.  Action:  Taking care of your future.  Appreciating what you have!  I can’t tell you how much crap I have gotten over the years because I haven’t bought the newest gadget, phone, car, outfit etc.  I am much more grateful for time with my family, unexpected pleasures and spending time playing with my amazing friends.  Action:  The next time you must have something ask yourself if you really need it.  I know shiny iPhones and new cars are fab, but will you go into debt to get them?  Debt is no fun and limits what you can do.  Focus on all you have and enjoy THAT.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted something and I’ve gotten it for free instead of buying it.  Food, Kindles and even cars.  Yeah.  I want this for you too. 

4.  Being jealous.  Being jealous is simply wanting what someone else has.  Action:  Stop being jealous and take action on achieving your goals for life, love and career.  Say to yourself…wow.  I love how my friend Shelly is always doing something fun!  I’m going to ask her if I can come on her outings and also start looking for my own fun adventures to try.

5.  Blaming everyone for your troubles.  This is so annoying.  It is rare to see someone take responsibility today.  They make the decision, something goes wrong and then they blame someone else for the error.  This is being a coward.  A child.  Adults learn how to take the heat and learn from their mistakes.  Shit happens and adults understand that things so wrong.  By taking responsibility you empower yourself and those who depend on you.   Action:  Take responsibility for your own life.  If you make a mistake, acknowledge it and then fix it.  It will do so much for others’ respect for you and your ability to cope with issues!  It will put their trust in you and your word.  Trust is everything.

All these Sass Zappers keep you from the fun.  The possibilities that every day holds.  What sounds more fun, planning your next adventure or holding a grudge?    Love, Goddess

Interesting question for you hotties…are you “easy to date?”

I spent the last few days playing in New York City with my best friend Mary Ann.  One night we went to dinner with her boyfriend.  He said something very interesting to me about her.  He said he really enjoyed dating her because she was “easy to date.”  Of course it brought me to instant attention!  So I’ve spent the last few days asking men what makes a woman “easy to date.”  Here are some of the answers I got with my opinion in italics:

1. No drama.  This is the number one dominant answer I got.
2. Fun and playful.  No explanation necessary!
3. Confident.   She knows who she is, where she is going and is proud of her accomplishments and interests.
4. Sensual without being slutty.   A woman’s sensuality is a part of her.  She doesn’t try too hard by showing all of her physical attributes.
5. Feminine.  Men like it when we don’t control and wear flirty, soft, flowy outfits.  They don’t expect it all the time, but love it!
6. Independent.  You have lots going on with career, family, friends and hobbies/interests.  You have a full, fun and amazing life!

Not one of the men I asked said things that involved looks and or body type.  Not one.  It was all about our personalities and how much we were invested in our own lives!  Really good to note, hmmm?  So I asked the man I’m seriously dating for his opinion on what makes a woman “easy to date.”  Without hesitation he said “No drama” and “respect for each others’ personal space.”  Which I found to be rather hot.  So for fun, why don’t we flip the above list into what turns a man off?  I flip the “easy to date” into “turn offs” in italics:

1. No drama.    Turn off:  She is always fighting with someone in her life, miserable and looking for attention.  She has no control over her finances yet spends like a drunken sailor.
2. Fun and playful.  Turn off:  She never has any fun suggestions for dates and takes everything seriously.  She has no sense of adventure and stays in her comfort zone.
3. Confident.    Turn off:  She is meek, lets him make all the decisions, agrees with him on all topics discussed and worries about whether he likes her.
4. Sensual without being slutty.   Turn off:  She is showing off butt, legs and cleavage.  All at the same time. 
5. Feminine.  Turn off:  Instead of letting a man lead, she is controlling.  She texts and calls trying to set up the next date.  She makes excuses to see him.
6. Independent.  Turn off:  She gives up her life for him.  She forgets her friends, hobbies and does only things he likes.  Then she wonders why she is so pissed off at him later.

So which girl sounds more “easy to date?”  LOL…yes…notice the first list is all Sassy Bitch and the second list is all Drama Queen?  Have a little fun today.  Ask your amazing male friends what the qualities are in a “woman easy to date.”  Listen to them.  Then all you have to do is party with your hot little life.  Revel in it and all you do.  Watch the men become intrigued and want to be with you.  And all you’re doing is enjoying your life and then enjoying them!  AND keep smiling like Marilyn above.  Love, Goddess

I was listening to a radio interview this morning over morning coffee.   The interviewee was a man I’d never heard of.  A host on The Travel Channel named Bert Kreischer.  I instantly fell in love.  What turned me on?  His enthusiasm and zest for life.  How unbelievably grateful he was for all he had and what he attributed his success to.  Here it is:

“I don’t say no a lot.  If it sounds like a good time I’ll do it.”  Bert Kreischer

If you heard his initial background you would be like…oh…that so fits.   Bert Kreischers’ claim to fame in college was being featured as Rolling Stones’ “top partier” in the US from Florida State University.  It took him some time to earn this title too.  He didn’t earn it until his 6th YEAR of college.  In the interview he said that all he did was party.  There is even a YouTube of him getting his butt waxed.  His parents, understandably concerned.

What do I think he owes his success to?  His utter zest for life and eagerness to be playful and fun.  I’m sure he oodles charisma.  If I can fall in love with him on the radio in a couple short minutes?  I’m sure in person he is someone who you just want to be around.  He met Will Smith this way!  Think about those people you just love being around.  They have an infectious energy.  And to top it all off?  He has a lovely self-effacing humor.  That’s when you can make fun of yourself in the most charming way.  Bert talked about how his Dad would lecture him about how to be successful and a few years later he is riding around Italy in a Ferrari!  He gets the irony and he knows that the main reason why he is successful is LUCK.

And that sparkling fun enthusiastic about life personality.  Which led him to hosting Travel programs that send him all over the world…to have fun.

Man…I’m jealous!  I want us to have this kind of fun!  Is is possible?  Hell yeah!  I think my life is pretty damn fun.  I love helping people with Bitch Lifestyle.  In the next few days I have an improv show…one of my absolute passions.  I have lots of plans with friends and a fun trip planned to NYC.  So how fun do you think you are?  Do you own your sense of fun whatever that is?  It may not be on the scale of Berts’, but whatever it is that makes you ooze with fun, playful enthusiasm is worth putting at the top of the list!  What will happen if you, like Bert say “YES!” to anything that sounds like a good time? Hmmmmm…open yourself to the YES!

Today I’m going to share with you one of my all time favorite books!  This book is so inspirational for your personal and professional growth.  It shows you how to improve your life in the ways all Sassy Bitches love:  Bottom line, focused and the actions required.  Mmmmmm…ready?

It’s called  The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Stephen R. Covey.  Mr. Covey focuses on the most important things in life:  your values, principles, family, relationships and communicating.  I wish I had been taught these things in school instead of:  If Harry is in the process of eating 14 melons and is on a train going 15 miles per hour, and Sue is on another train on a track opposite of Harry going 25 miles per hour and they are 2 miles away from each other, how many melons will Harry have eaten when he intersects Sue?  Who really cares about Harry and his melons? For me Stephen Covey teaches you oh so much more!

1. Everyone gets that we need to manage our time.  Stephen Covey breaks down the time wasters.  He shows you HOW to spend your time and why.  This one habit frees up so much time!
2. Mind thoughts and patterns that keep you from succeeding.  We are bombarded by these in such a consistent way in the media, internet, and television. These patterns are negative and keep you from succeeding.  Because of the constant bombardment these thoughts and patterns are becoming “normal.”  Sassy Bitches break through this to attain their own personal goals of success.  Stephen has invaluable tools to help here.  Think law of attraction meets everyday common sense!
3. Distractions.  Think about it.  How many things are trying to get our attention.  Just open AOL and see all the articles, videos and pictures competing to get your attention.  Because of everyday things like AOL (I love AOL and all the information it can give me don’t get me wrong!) this can lead you astray.  Astray in the fact that “the web” sucks you in and drains you of time.  Time that you can spend doing things for you.  Fun, career or otherwise.  This book will help you re-focus on the important so you can achieve even more!

This post is dedicated to one of my clients…Jerri.  Jerri was so adorable in her refusal to TAKE what she needed for herself while dating men.  She has learned to keep the focus on her needs.  If she is exhausted from work and he wants to see her last-minute?  She is vague but pleasant.  She tells him she will get back to him the very next day with her availability.  She has learned how to keep him playfully engaged in her while staying focused on what’s going on inside of her.   She has re-discovered the art of dating and getting to know a man slowly…and is rocking herself and him.  Well done, Jerri!  Here is an example from life that is quite similar to hers.  Here we go:

The Bitch has made a huge step:  I called the man I’m dating “hon” in a text.

Oooo….you live life so dangerously, Goddess! (Yes be as sarcastic and wise-cracky as you want.  I get it)  This may seem like a little thing for you, hot and sassy readers, but for me it’s HUGE.  So why the huge deal?  I’ve been dating this man for a month and a half now.  He’s been calling me “babe, sweetie and honey” for at least half that.  Me?  Not one little word that would come close to being “relationship -y.”  To me those “little words” =  one step closer to a relationship.  Which I’m not sure I want yet.  Even with a man who (so far) treats me beautifully.  Hell, for weeks I told him in an uber playful way that I “thought I may like him.”  To his credit, he played right along with me.  Then he told me he knew he liked me. “I know I like you.”  Me, the playful Bitch responded:  “Are you sure?  I can give you some more time to think about it.”  He loved that!  Notice how I am not playing games.  I am being honest with him and playfully responding to his getting closer to me so I have time to figure out my own feelings.

In the past…before I embraced being a Bitch, I didn’t handle this well with the men I was in dating.  In the past when boyfriends would tell me they loved me,  I didn’t know what to say because:

1. I was shocked.  Which was really my own insecurity:   Me?  You love me?
2. Guilt:  I wasn’t sure if I loved him back so I would start to worry about everything.  Which leads to the Drama Queen taking over!

So I would say nothing.  Except maybe thank you.  Or hug them or kiss them.  Change the subject.  Avoiding my feelings and theirs. Complicate the whole process with Drama Queen worry. The Drama Queen kept me from seeing the simple:  I wasn’t ready.  I’ve always wanted to take things slower than slow in a sleep on the second date world.  Today?  It’s like a guy kisses you after the first date and he assumes you’re ready for mounting!   SO not me.   For me, I’ve always wanted the man who wants to enjoy the dating process.   Savor the first kiss and the thought of the second.  Soft caresses that drive you mad with want.  Enjoying and relishing the next moment where you have the pleasure of enjoying each others’ touch.  All while getting to know each other with conversation that keeps our minds passionately engaged as well.

The man I’m dating is giving me all of that.  Would you believe on our last date he softly caressed and kissed me for 4 hours?  And we’ve kept our clothes on.  All of them.   I know it’s hard to believe, but if you know what you want, how you want to be treated and communicate to a MAN and not a BOY/GUY it will happen for you.  Please please tell me that you are jealous and want some seriously long foreplay like this with a man who adores you.  You are so worth it!  Use this story to propel you into what you want from a man.  How you want to be treated and adored.  I so want that for all of you!  My client Jerri says she is relishing slowly getting to know her new boyfriends’ intellect, sense of play and body.  As he is hers!
